“Just the Tip” is an alternative rock group from the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. The band’s current lineup consists of Eric “Pokey” Sandoval on lead guitar, Andy “DirtyHands” Bilyk on drums, and Patrick Miller on rhythm guitar and vocals.
Just the Tip came together in 2016, as three old friends and former bassist (and cousin) Robin Jenerou began jamming together in the Miller’s garage in Carpentersville. It wasn’t long before they became one of the most iconic and entertaining cover groups in the history of the Northern Illinois music scene. Playing alternative hits from the 90’s and 2000’s, the legend of JTT has spread from the streets of Carpentersville to the shores of Japan and North Korea.
JTT has electrified crowds at various weddings, family parties, and even the ash tray of Carpentersville, the abomination of a bar formally known as Barone’s. Due to their quick rise to fame, JTT has been forced to be very selective about where and how often they perform. All three members are happily married men, and crowds of women have been known to quite literally throw themselves at members of the band after having their ear holes blessed with the almost unfathomable grace of the music JTT effortlessly emits. Simple tasks such as going to Woodman’s became challenging for the band members, as people would swarm the members looking for pictures, autographs, or maybe just their only chance to be close enough to touch greatness. For this reason, it is incredibly difficult to book JTT for a gig, and this is part of what contributes to making each performance JTT blesses crowds with so special. If you are lucky enough to witness a JTT performance live in person, acts such as Southbound and Midwest Underground have proven to be excellent opening acts.
“Patrick Miller continues to prove that his voice is that of a generational talent, and he continues to inspire me on a daily basis” -Justin Hawkins of The Darkness
“His voice is like John Stamos mixed with Nick Carter” -Mike Miller
“I can only continue to strive to be a guitarist at the level of Eric Sandoval” -John Frusciante of Red Hot Chili Peppers
“Andy Bilyk can drum with the finesse and precision of a fine tailor, or the power and emotion of an NFL linebacker”
-Neil Peart of Rush
“The fact that JTT has not received a Grammy is a travesty and speaks volumes to the current state of the music industry” -Rick Rubin
“They kinda suck but Pat sings pretty good I guess. As long as they got Miller Lite I guess I’ll go watch” -Jeff Sayre
